200 people were killed when a passenger plane crashed and exploded in flames after skidding off the runway at Brazil's busiest airport. The TAM Airlines jet was carrying 176 passengers when it lost control during landing and skidded off the wet runway at Sao Paulo airport. The Airbus A320 exploded after it slammed into a fuel depot and cargo terminal where people were working. Rescue officials confirmed there were casualties on the ground, but it's not clear at this stage how many people may have been killed. All those on board the aircraft perished. The plane was on an internal flight from Porto Alegre in southern Brazil.
