Twin suicide attacks in Baghdad

Bomb and mortar attacks across the Iraqi capital leave at least 15 dead and scores wounded. The day's deadliest attack happened at a bird market in New Baghdad when two suicide car bombers struck almost simultaneously. A mortar round smashed into another mainly Shi'ite district of Baghdad and the heavily-fortified Green Zone compound was also targeted. The attacks come despite the arrival last week of the first of more than 21,000 extra U.S. troops intended to bring an end to sectarian violence.
