Suicide attack near Red Mosque

Pakistani police were the target of a suicide blast at an Islamabad restaurant near the Red Mosque following violent clashes. More than a dozen people were killed in the restaurant attack - many of them policemen. The suicide bombing took place shortly after violent clashes between Islamist radicals and police at the nearby Red Mosque. The protests wrecked government plans for religious activities to resume at the complex weeks after a bloody siege left more than 100 people dead.
