People yearn for peace in rebel-controlled areas of northern Sri Lanka. With the renewal of the Tamil separatist war in Sri Lanka, hundreds of thousands of people living in the rebel-held areas in the north of the island are suffering untold hardship. Soundbite: Subramaniam Rajeshwari, 57-year-old fruit seller, saying (Sinhala): "When people came here from outside we had good sales. I earned five to six thousand rupees a day. Now I don't have even one thousand to one thousand five hundred rupees of sales. There is no crowd. We can only sell if people come from outside." Simon Gardner reports.
