Double tragedy for flood victims
August 01, 2007
At least 28 flood victims have drowned after a crowded boat taking them to dry land capsized in fast-moving waters. The tragedy happened in India's Uttar Pradesh region as the worst floods for a decade forced ten million villagers across South Asia from their homes. In Bangladesh more than half the country is under water with four and a half million people either stranded, displaced or living in water-logged areas. 130 people have died in Bangladesh as a result of the disaster.
