S Asia flood victims face hunger
August 07, 2007
The U.N. is warning that millions of people face starvation and disease in flood-hit South Asia. Hundreds of people have died in South Asia's worst flooding in years which has devastated parts of Bangladesh, Nepal and India. Millions of people across the Subcontinent are without food, clean water and shelter. The authorities are struggling to reach those hardest-hit, and many victims complain they have received little or no aid. The U.N. is warning that millions of flood victims could fall seriously ill if emergency aid doesn't reach them within days.
