Humans blamed for dolphin's demise

The first extinction of a large vertebrate for more than 50 years has been declared after desperate efforts to rescue it came up short. Experts say the Yangtze River Dolphin has been killed off due to it being getting caught up in the nets of fishing boats in Eastern China where it lived. It represents the only species of whale, dolphin or porpoise to be driven to extinction by human activity.
