Switzerland, Germany hit by floods

According to authorities and locals, water levels were receding in the Swiss town of Basel, which lies on the border with France and Germany. Switzerland experienced its worst floods in two years after days of torrential rain, flooding cities along the Rhine. But as the water level receded in Basel, it was rising in the German town of Maxau, further down the Rhine.
