Polls open

The mid-term election polls have opened in America where the Democrats are set to overtake the Republicans in the House of Representatives. The war in Iraq has of course had a detrimental effect. In some states Republican candidates have shunned President Bush's support over fears that voters will cast their vote to the other side.
