Studying the blue Danube
August 16, 2007
An international team of scientists check out Europe's Danube in what they say is one of the world's biggest river studies. The academics are travelling 2,400km (approx 1500 miles) along the river, from Germany to the Black Sea, investigating sediments and other components in the water as part of cross-border plans to protect the future of the Danube.
