Japan's Naked News row
August 24, 2007
A 'naked' news programme in Japan aimed at those with hearing difficulties is at the centre of a row. The programme - which features presenters removing their clothes as they read the news - was presented in sign language, a move its makers say is aimed at bringing such colourful programming to those with aural disabilities. Naked News had received government money but this has been halted after critics attacked the apparent support for pornography.
