A hidden tragedy for Iraqi women

In Iraq's safest region, the northern Kurdish provinces, a different kind of threat overshadows the community -- its women are killing themselves in increasing numbers. Though suicide is a stigma in conservative Muslim society, observers say the worsening economic situation, increased hardship and a paralyzing paternalistic culture are driving women to take their own lives.
