43-year-old NASA astronaut, US Navy Captain Lisa Nowak, has been charged in Orlando, Florida with attempted first-degree murder and attempted kidnapping of another woman. Police say Nowak, a married mother of three, saw the other woman, US Air Force Captain Colleen Shipman as a rival for the affections of male astronaut Bill Oefelein. Shipman called Nowak an acquaintance of her boyfriend and said Nowak had researched Shipman's personal information using her government contacts or computer. Orange County Circuit Judge Mike Murphy granted Nowak's release on bail totaling $25,500.
