Blame Game Follows Indonesia's Floods

As residents in in Indonesia's capital sift through mud and debris following the massive floods that have left 340,000 homeless, a blame game is now under way. There is anger about the government s perceived role in bad city planning, allegedly exacerbating the floods. And there is widespread frustration among flood victims over its failure to mount a well-coordinated relief effort. A report from Jakarta, as floodwaters finally begin to recede. (c) 2006 AFP
