Britain Faces Poultry Bans

Britain has slaughtered about 160,000 turkeys in an attempt to contain its first ever outbreak of bird flu. European veterinary experts are trying identify how the poultry on a farm in eastern Britain became infected. EU states have ramped up security measures to avoid contamination and a number of countries, including Russia, Japan, South Korea and South Africa, has implemented full import bans.
