Glitzy opening for Macau's biggest casino

The Venetian Macao, the world's largest casino-resort, opened the doors to its mega-facilities on Tuesday. It's a gaudy mix of baccarat, shops and Venetian canals designed to transform the Chinese territory from gambling haven to Asia's top entertainment draw. But some have warned that the 2.4-billion-dollar resort contributes to destabilizing Macau, vastly boosting the gaming industry while leaving other sectors of society out in the cold.
