Secularists sceptical about new Turkish president

Turkey's parliament on Tuesday elected Abdullah Gul as the country's president. The former Islamist politician, previously the foreign minister, has sown division in Turkey's nominally secular society. Part of the controversy is linked to his wife Hayrunnisa, whose Islamic-style headscarf is seen by some as a symbol defying of secularism. An AFPTV voiced report.
