In fair Mantua where we lay our scene, diggers uncover a gravesite containing a pair locked in eternal embrace. Archaeologists say the discovery is exceptional because it is the burial of two individuals embracing. Maria Menotti, archaeologist responsible for the dig says there has never been before a find like this in northern Italy. "Even if in later times we have discovered women who had been sacrificed with men, there are no examples like this of two individuals embracing," she said.
