Missing girl's mum is suspect

The 39-year-old British family doctor was questioned by detectives for a second day. Family and friends have reacted angrily to the news that Kate McCann is under suspicion, insisting she's innocent. Portuguese police confirmed they have identified a new suspect into their investigation into the missing British four-year-old, but, in accordance with Portuguese law, police refused to name McCann as a formal suspect. Meanwhile, Gerry McCann, Madeleine's father, is being interviewed separately. Madelaine vanished from the family's holiday apartment in the Algarve on May 3rd. Her parents had left her and their 2-year-old twins asleep in the house while they dined with friends at a restaurant nearby.
