Ban met Chadian President Idriss Deby to discuss plans to deploy a European Union (EU) peacekeeping force in eastern Chad as complement to Darfur peacekeeping, then flew to Sirte in Libya for talks with the Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, who has agreed to host Darfur peace talks next month.
