Iraqis celebrate Ramadan

Iraqis, like the rest of the world's 1.2 billion Muslims, have begun celebrating Ramadan, the holy month of dawn-to-dusk fasting, festivities and abstinence. But preparations for this ninth and holiest month of the Islamic calendar have been harder than ever, and more expensive, as the insecurity has pushed up costs for foods and household items.
