Lebanon Remembers Hariri

On Wednesday, Lebanon will mark the second anniversary of former prime minister Rafiq Hariri s assassination. A UN commission of enquiry has implicated Syria in the killing but a political crisis in Beirut has prevented a UN-backed international tribunal getting off the ground so, as yet, no suspects have been brought to book. Supporters of the pro-Syrian opposition have been holding a sit-in outside the government s offices for two months. The anniversary will bring them into close contact with groups pushing for the Hariri tribunal to move forward. A voiced report. (c) 2006 AFP
