Stolen Da Vinci recovered
October 05, 2007
A painting by Leonardo Da Vinci worth an estimated 25 million pounds has been recovered by police in Scotland. The painting was stolen from Drumlanrig Castle in Scotland four years ago. The castle belongs to the Duke of Buccleugh who died last month aged 83. 'Madonna of the Yarnwinder', painted in the first decade of the 16th century, has a chequered and disputed history. Leonardo da Vinci is known to have worked on it between 1500 and 1510 for the Secretary of State to French King Louis XII.
