NEW POST-SURGERY TREATMENT OPTION FOR BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS

For the millions of Americans who have survived cancer, the risk of the disease coming back is always a concern. Previously, the only option breast cancer patients were given after surgery, other than chemotherapy and radiation, was tamoxifen. One of the largest studies of breast cancer treatment after surgery in postmenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive early breast cancer demonstrates that Arimidex lowers the incidence of breast cancer recurrence more than tamoxifen.
