As the weather gets colder and the long winter months begin, many Americans turn to rich, creamy dishes and desserts known as "comfort foods" to warm themselves up inside and out. According to a recent survey, almost three-fourths of Americans' favorite comfort food recipes contain dairy products such as milk, cream or cheese. This can be problematic for the millions of Americans who are lactose intolerant, as these dairy laden favorites provide them no comfort at all.
