Bush in Vietnam
November 17, 2006
Bush flew into the Vietnamese capital, Hanoi, to join other regional leaders for the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation Summit. He was welcomed at a state dinner hosted by the Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet who said that he welcomed the expansion in relations between the two countries. But as Reuters Correspondent Lyndee Prickitt reports from Hanoi, his trip comes in the wake of the stinging defeat suffered by Bush's Republican party in mid-term congressional elections.
