Museum that picks your brain
February 21, 2007
A Peruvian museum has claimed to have the only public display of human brains in the world - and it is a hit with the tourists. The collection features 2,998 brains, dating as far back as 1942. The world's largest brain bank is the U.S.-based Harvard Brain Tissue Resource Center at Mclean Hospital that has 6,689 brains. However the Harvard brains aren't open to public viewing. Researchers can obtain tissue samples from the federally-funded institution but only if they are qualified scientists.
