Amid growing tension at the Turkish-Iraqi border, the government in Ankara wants to create a legal framework to allow its troops to pursue members of the PKK movement into Iraqi territory. Its parliament is expected to adopt a government motion on Wednesday, giving the green light for cross-border operations against PKK bases. The PKK have waged a bloody campaign for Kurdish self-rule in southeast Turkey since 1984 in a conflict that has claimed more than 37,000 lives. In Turkey many have had enough, and back the move to pursue the rebels, even on foreign territory.
