Myanmar voices

Amnesty International has released new video testimony claiming an ongoing suppression of pro-democracy protests in Myanmar. Meanwhile, U.N. special envoy Ibrahim Gambari met with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono after holding talks with the Foreign Minister Hassan Wirajuda in Jakarta to discuss Myanmar. The Foreign Minister admitted that "ASEAN's constructive engagement has failed." China, Myanmar's closest ally has also voiced its frustrations to its southeast Asian neighbour and Gambari said the U.N. sees China as an ally in its efforts to resolve the Myanmar conflict.
