Germany to host women's World Cup

The German national side has won the last two women's World Cup finals. The winning bid also comes just one year after the country hosted the 2006 men's World Cup, which is referred to in Germany as a "summer fairy tale". Germany's bid relied heavily on their successful staging of the 2006 tournament and it's expected that the 2011 World Cup will use 12 stadiums, including those in Berlin and Frankfurt, that were used in 2006.
