Mars trip is a success
February 25, 2007
A space probe has swooped around the back of Mars, completing a key manoeuvre in its 10-year mission to meet a distant comet. Rosetta - named after the stone which unlocked the secrets of Egyptian hieroglyphics - was launched by the European Space Agency in 2004. It performed its "swing-by" of the Red Planet without a hitch. But it won't meet it's target until 2014.
