Royalty ruled at the 79th Academy Awards this year, with 'The Queen' and 'The Last King of Scotland' earning Dame Helen Mirren and Forest Whitaker the best actress and best actor Oscars respectively. There were also belated kudos for director Martin Scorsese, with his Boston-based crime drama 'The Departed' picking up awards for best director and best picture.
