Fingerprints for new passports

From now on, any Germans applying for a new passport will have their fingerprints scanned and the information stored on a chip. These new biometric passports are being hailed by the German government as more secure and less open to forgery, which they say is important in the fight against crime and terrorism. But citizens' rights groups dispute this and claim people are losing control of who has access to their personal data. Joanna Partridge reports for Reuters
