U.S. blue chips plunged as much as 500 points in Tuesday intra-day trade on worries about China and U.S. economic weakness. Stocks tumbled on Tuesday, pushing the S&P 500 down in its biggest one-day drop in almost four years, as a sharp sell-off in China's stock market and weak U.S. data fanned concerns about global economic growth.
