iPhone hits Europe

The first iPhones went on sale at midnight in the German city of Cologne, before becoming available across Germany and in Britain. Many Apple fans and internet bloggers say the iPhone, which combines a mobile phone, a media player and an internet browser is the ultimate mobile device. But consumer groups have criticised how iPhone users have to sign up for a fixed-term contract with a network provider just to use the phone.Joanna Partridge reports for Reuters
