Lebanese minister shot dead

He was an anti-Syrian member of the Lebanese government, which is under threat from pro-Damascus parties, including Hezbollah. The assassination follows the formation of a court to try suspected killers of the former prime minister, Rafik Hariri, whose murder is widely blamed on Syria.
