Typhoon Frank floods Philippines

Thousands of people are fleeing their homes as a typhoon sweeps through islands in the central Philippines. Typhoon Fengshen triggered flash floods and shut the resort island of Boracay as it headed towards southern China. Local radio reported 12 people killed and another dozen missing in the southern region of Mindanao after the typhoon strengthened seasonal rains caused a river to burst its banks. Two other people were reported drowned in the centre of the archipelago.
